Up until now I thought, nothing exciting happens, in my life, all my blog would consist of is eat, work, school, workout, sleep, repeat. I found this semester was FAR from boring. So heres the recap of what happens in between the "eat, sleep, work, school, workout, repeat" list. It seems to be one of the busiest semesters of my life!
January
- Last fall, as I found my workouts lacking challenge and motivation, I decided to sign up for a 5k to run in January with some friends. This way I had no excuse for slacking.
So January 15th at 7:00 Am I found myself down in Addison, on a freezing, drizzling morning with Gail, Melissa, Brandy, and Dixie racing in the Hot Chocolate 5k. This was my first 5k nearly 7 years! The run was fantastic and I ended up getting SECOND PLACE in my age group!! It was completely shocked. I got 122nd overall (1500 runners), and my time was 27:57.
- Shortly after the race I began my 2nd semester of Junior year. This semester was my first semester to work on "real" patients. By real I mean the people paying for me to clean their teeth. In the fall we spent the whole semester cleaning eachother's teeth, but now we were unleashed on the unknowing public. I got lucky, in that I absolutely adored all my patients, and I didnt have any bad experiences. (I guess they got lucky too ;) )
FEBRUARY
- In February we had FIVE snow days! Texas record by far. It was amazing, I loved every minute of it! The lake even started freezing over.
MARCH
- In mach I decided to get into biking/ cycling. Little did I know I would convert half the family! I so how managed to talk dad into buying us these great Cannondale Hybrid bikes! We have started exploring Texas on the bikes.
Lake Ray Roberts & White Rock Lake
- I also got called to be Institute president for the YSAs (all adults are 18-30). I am learning alot from this calling and it is fun planning activities and events for the YSA's.
- I got employee of the month at Eddie Bauer for March :)
APRIL
April was the Craziest most exciting month of my life. In addition to being at school mon- fri 8-5, and working at Eddie on the weekends, I managed to accomplish a million things. Here are just a few...
I was afraid to even look at my schedule because it kept getting crazier
- MY BIRTHDAY!!! 21 years old on April 4th
I Started off the Celebrating with all the girls down in Fort Worth @ Tavernas an Italian restaurant.
This party included a double decker cookie cake :)
Next we had the family party, which Also included another DOUBLE DECKER COOKIE CAKE :)
To finish off the celebrating Ryan and I went to the cheesecake factory and a movie on another night. I think I gained 15 pounds on my birthday!! Maybe 16.
- The week following my birthday was FILLED with tests and projects. Which never stopped until may. The weekend after my birthday I went down to SAN MARCOS with all the girls for a dental hygiene convention. We had a blast shopping at the outlets, going out to eat, floating the river, going to the Sunstar party saturday night, and shopping at the DH marketplace. I cant wait until next year. I roomed in the hotel with Brooke, Shanna, and Thu.
- The Next weekend Shanna and I ran the WARRIOR DASH North Texas in Roanoke. We had a blast, and Got covered in mud as we swam thru rivers, jumped over fire, climbed under and over obstacles, and swam thru mud to cross the finish line. It was amazing, we will definitely be racing in it again next year. I got 999th out of over 7300 people! I got 26th for my age group, and ran it in 32.06. Afterward we got hosed down by the firefighters and their hoses. Then I donated my race shoes to a shoe foundation.
- Easter and Mothers day (in may) were giant feasts spent with the family.
- Also in April I went to my FIRST CONCERT EVER. I know I know Im 21 and have never been to a concert. I won tickets, so I decided to go. This is how it happened, around spring break I got a card in the mail saying to go online and enter to win these free JACK INGRAM tickets. I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC, so kind of as a joke I thought why not!? So over a month later (3 days before the concert) I get tickets in the mail! I had totally forgotten about the whole ordeal, so last minute, my friend Sarah and I decide to go! My favorite songs are: Measure of a man, Love you, and Where ever you are.

MAY a.k.a SUMMER!!!
- I finished out the semester strong, with a 3.7 and got DEANS LIST again! YAY!
I had 4 A's and 2 B's.
- On a sad note however... We had to put down PEPPER!! She was over 15 years old, and had been sick with kidney disease and a Neurological disease for 5 months. I loved pepper SOO much she was my best friend the whole 15 years. I know she has gone to doggie heaven, and I cant wait to see her again!! She was put 4/16 at 4:55 :( .We had soo many great memories of her..
Entering her in a dog show and her getting 3rd place
Entering her in a trick show, and her doing NONE of her tricks
All the obstacle courses she ran thru and jumped over
All the miles she ran and walked with us
Princess Poofypants every spring
Taking her on our trips to Arizona, Oklahoma, and all around Texas
Her eating the walls, digging holes in the yard, and digging up the carpet
The first day we got her in the backyard when she jumped in the pool & realized she cant swim
She would jump on the glass window, so we'd tell her no, so then she would tap the glass w 1 paw
Playing hide and go seek for treats
Blanket wrestling during movie nights
Playing rope, bull, and kong in the backyard
Sneaking her all of our food
Her and Gabby breaking moms giant lamp
Opening her own christmas presents under the tree
Every night when we went to bed she slept at the foot of the stairs
The cute faces she makes to get out of trouble
Her chattering teeth when she got old
Her curly tail and giant velvet ears
How quick she was a puppy and we couldn't catch her
I Love you forever Miss Pepper!
